There is generally at least one outdoor event each month, for example; white water rafting, snow skiing, bike riding, hiking, rock wall climbing, camping; and various community service projects. Troop 788 attends BSA’s Camp Sequassen July 6-12, 2008 as a troop, with other weeks open for independent provisional campers. | The next Troop Meeting will be at Norfield Congregational Church’s Parish
Hall! | "TARGET FIRST CLASS" -- TROOP 788 OUTDOOR ADVANCEMENT WORKSHOP | Attention Tenderfoot and Second Class Scouts -- please "save the date" for a very special opportunity coming up later this month. On Saturday, November 22nd, between 9 am - 4 pm, Troop 788 will be coordinating "Target First Class" -- a comprehensive outdoor advancement workshop geared solely for Troop 788 Scouts at the Tenderfoot or 2nd Class ranks. This DAY-ONLY event (no camping!) will be held at Hoyt Scout Reservation in West Redding, at the Blue Pavilion, and will focus on Orienteering, Map/Compass, Cooking, and First Aid. Note: 6th and 7th grade friends are welcome to participate with the Scouts. In fact, one of the rank requirements for First Class is to "invite a friend" to a Troop event, so why not use this outdoor event as a great opportunity to share your scouting experience. Again, please reserve Saturday, November 22nd, on your family calendar for what should be a very productive and fun-filled event. Feel free e-mail Mr. Babyak (ctmoneymgr@aol.com) or Mr. Friedrichsen (kfriedrichsen@tcresidential.com) with any questions or input about this event. Thanks! --Mr. Babyak | Fishing Merit Badge | Frank Bigelow has arranged a one day trip November 9th on the Middlebank II party boat for those interested in their fishing merit badge or just a fun day. Connor's Eagle project includes managing volunteers to inform the citizens of Weston about emergency preparedness through a series of informational presentations. His project will instruct Weston residents how to make an emergency "Grab and Go" evacuation bag, and how to be prepared for an emergency. The project expands upon an emergency preparedness brochure by the Weston/Westport Health District. | Code of Conduct, Discipline Policy and information on Board of Review just published | Please see the details in the Code of Conduct section - scouts and parents should read it and accept the new policy.
