Jacob's Senior Patrol Leader Welcome
Troop 788 is a very unique and special troop. We have a lot of fun and make new friends. We are made up of about 30 scouts who are all active participants in attending weekly meetings working on troop activities, community service and pursuing the Eagle Scout Award.
In our troop we have a wide variety of scouts with special talents. We have athletes that play football, lacrosse, and baseball. We have artists, actors, musicians, and computer experts. Our troop loves to travel and experience different camping areas. We have been to Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey, not to mention our own state of Connecticut along the Appalachian Trail.
Each year our troop carries on scout traditions such as welcoming the Senior Webelos into our troop or going to a scouting/summer camp. Each year around the first of July a good part of our troop attends a Boy Scout camp called Camp Sequassen. During this time the Scouts have the opportunity to earn a range of merit badges like canoeing, sculpture, lifesaving, archery, environmental science AND you can even advance in your rank. Not only does this exciting camp have great food, but it has a great theme song and a lot of S-E-Q-U-A-S-S-E-N spirit as well.
We look forward to many amazing activities that we decide on as a group like campouts, white water rafting, and touring historical landmarks. Our troop is a one-of-a-kind-troop that has devoted and enthusiastic Boy Scouts in it. These boys make up the heart and soul of our troop which makes it what it is-the best of the best…… TROOP 788!!! BE PREPARED for a great experience!
